For this project my teacher is having a symposium day. It is March 27th at the Morton Junior High School. It starts at 5 and goes to around 7. In order to be able to be in this symposium we have to give a 5 minute speech about our website, then my teacher will decide if we are in or not. If we make it to the big symposium then we will give a 10ish minute speech about our website to the community. I haven't given my speech yet, but I'm hoping for the best! After all the speeches are done there will be a time where you can come done and ask questions to us! So if you are in town on this date please come! We would all appreciate it.(: If you also want to check out all the objectives I've been working on click here!
If you ever want to have that feeling of completing something you might want to think about maybe doing a fitness challenge. I've been keeping an eye out for new challenges and the other day I found this great challenge that I am about to start. It is called "30 Day Abs Challenge". This challenge as you can tell is 30 days long, but each day gets harder and harder. That was the only thing about the last challenge that I did that I didn't like. For the first week it was hard, but it never got harder. It just got easier. I can tell just by looking at this challenge that it will be difficult and I will find myself pushing to complete it each day. I hope you will take my advice and do this challenge! If you do just leave me a comment and we can talk about the challenge together. Although I like to workout, I haven't started this challenge yet, or prepared myself for it.
30 Day Abs Challenge Today I'm going to tell you 5 of the best workouts you could do. According to Harvard, the first best is swimming. Swimming takes the strain off painful joints so you can move them more fluidly. Swimming also burns lots of calories and tones you. The second one is Tai Chi and then strength training. Tai chi incorporates movement and relaxation, which is good for both your body and your mind. Strength training trains and strengthens your muscles so when you go to workout you will be getting a better workout. The fourth one is walking. You might say "Why walking?" Walking is simple yet powerful. It can help you stay trim, improve cholesterol levels, strengthen bones, keep blood pressure in check, and it can lift your mood. The last one is Kegel exercises. These exercises don't improve your looks, but they strengthen so you can improve your workouts. That's all for today! I hope you enjoy these exercises. Bye(:
10 Healthiest Foods on the Planet Today I was wondering what were some of the healthiest food to eat? I decided to do some research and see what they were! The healthiest food is lemons! They are healthy because they have 100 percent of your daily intake of vitamin C, which will help to strengthen your bones. Next, is broccoli, then dark chocolate. Dark chocolate is good for you because just one-forth of an ounce can reduce blood pressure and also reduces the "bad" cholesterol. Coming in 4th place is potatoes followed by salmon. The sixth healthiest is walnuts. These are healthy because they are proven to reduce cancer and protect against the sun. Next, is avocados, then garlic. Finally, there is spinach and beans. Out of all these foods I probably eat about 4 of these foods. These include the dark chocolate, lemons, potatoes, and garlic. I hope you find this helpful for if you ever are wanting to eat healthy! These are just some out of many healthy eating choices! Enjoy(:
Doesn't this look good? Well it's actually good for you too(; Healthy and Tasty SmoothiesNow that I am done with my challenge I decided to post some great tasting and super healthy recipes! The recipe of the day today will be raspberry smoothie!
Ingredients: 1 banana (peeled and cut into chunks) 1 cup orange juice 1/2 cup nonfat yogurt (vanilla) 1/2 cup raspberries (frozen) Preparation: In a blender, whirl banana, orange juice, yogurt, and raspberries until smooth. The nutrition information for the smoothie is: 60 calories, 12 grams carbs, and 0mg cholesterol. Smoothies are great for after working out, they are refreshing and they don't make you feel like your workout was for nothing. I hope you guys like this smoothie!(: Today is day 30! I am officially done!!!!!!!! Yay(: I feel great! I feel stronger than an elephant now.(; I feel that the world is my gym(: Since today was the last day I had to weigh myself. After this whole entire challenge I have lost a total of 3 pounds. This may not seem like a lot to you, but it is actually a lot for a teen like me. Since it is proven that muscle weighs more than fat, the muscles I've been building are taken in to consideration of this final weigh in. My mom who also took part in this challenge with me lost 2 pounds. We are both very proud of each other for being able to complete this challenge without stopping! Today I'm pushing myself harder than I ever have, because it is the last day to give it my all.
QOTD: It's all done. Rate your level of energy from 1-10. A: My level of energy I would say is probably a 10! I feel great!(: Doing my final weigh in! Today is day 29! Only one more day to go!!!! Today is a Monday so that means I had to do Monday's workout. The hardest exercise for Monday I would say is probably either the dead lifts or the reverse curls. I find the dead lifts challenging because there is always a pulling feeling in my legs while I do them. The reverse curls are also challenging because it is hard in the beginning to support yourself up by just your stomach muscles, but this is to strengthen your core muscles so it is working! I can now do them all in a row without having to take a break because my stomach hurts. I walked for my cardio today. That's all for today! Bye(:
QOTD: It's almost over. Are you glad it's almost over? A: Yes I'm glad, but I'm also not. I'm glad because I can take a break, but then I'm not because I feel so much more energized and healthy. It's a great feeling!(: On the treadmill about to start my cardio. Today is day 28! Ahhh, only 2 more days! For today's workout I did Thursday's because I felt that my stomach need more toning. Either that, or I'm still full from dinner(: For Thursday's workout you have to do oblique twists. These in the beginning were hard but after some practice they are much easier to do! Whenever I do the donkeys my dad still makes funny noises. I think I have a donkey as a dad. That's all for now! Bye(:
QOTD: Do you always check your weight on the weighing scale? A: I don't always check my weight. For this challenge I decided to check my weight before I started, at the halfway mark, and when I finish the challenge. I sure needed to rest after sledding! Today is the 27th day! Only 3 more days to go! Today was another one of those days were you get to pick which day you do. I chose to do Wednesday's. I chose this day because it involves a lot of arm lifting. My arms are definitely getting stronger from doing these workouts. For my cardio today I went sledding. We have sledding hills in our backyard so it's easy to just go out for a little bit. The hill is really steep to walk up so it challenges me when I walk up it. Well, that's all for today! Bye(:
QOTD: Are you glad you decided to do this challenge? A: Yes, I am glad I am doing this challenge. I feel much healthier and motivated to do just anything. Nothing better than a nice, hot cup of hot chocolate after being outside! |
